Harbor Payments receives 2006 GBS Eagles award from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and Innovations Publishing
GBS Eagles program identifies and honors exceptional private companies in the Southeast ATLANTA – October 24, 2006 – Harbor Payments, the leading provider of next-generation electronic billing, invoicing and payments management solutions, has been honored by the GBS Eagles program for its strategic funding initiatives. During its formative phase, the company landed a number of large customers that recognized the value of licensing the Harbor Payments solution rather than undergoing an expensive and highly risky R&D effort to build a similar solution in-house. These industry-leading clients became so wedded to the Harbor Payments solution that they invested heavily in the company and, in several cases, became white label resellers of the solution. Harbor Payments’ innovative financing strategy delivered significant revenue, equity investment and an annual R&D budget. The GBS Eagles Program was launched by the Center for Entrepreneurship and Corporate Growth (CECG) at Emory’s Goizueta Business School and Innovations Publishing. GBS Eagles identifies and honors exceptional private companies in the Southeast, inducting honorees into an exclusive network of entrepreneurs, advisors and capital sources designed to discover and promote successful business practices in the region. The program is sponsored by AirTran Airways, Arnall Golden Gregory, Bennett Thrasher, Business to Business magazine, Croft & Bender, Goldman Sachs, HudsonSlaton, Morgan Stanley, TechDiscovery and UK Trade & Investment.
