Harbor Payments implemented its corporate disbursement solution, Payment Harbor. This web-based payment processing platform provided centralized management of all disbursement activities and electronic payment file routing to internal or remote printers and designated payment processors. Payment Harbor also enabled e-notifications, manual checks, Positive Pay, and printing of W2s.

While payroll disbursements were consolidated onto one web-based platform, this same process also enabled the segregation of AP disbursements to each subsidiary. E-notifications reduced the number of vendor inquiries regarding payments. Payment Harbor also allowed Southern Company to utilize all of its printers simultaneously, reducing payroll check printing time from 12 hours to less than 4 hours. With Southern Company’s previous system architecture, if one site’s system failed, all other sites would be effected. With the implementation of Payment Harbor, Southern Company now has a central point of backup and recovery for the AP and payroll databases. Our application will allow Southern Company to print checks at an alternate location. All of these benefits have resulted in substantial savings in time and money.
